Student Guidance FAQs - Current Regional Situation

In light of the current situation in the region, we understand that you may have questions or concerns. To support you, we have prepared a set of FAQs to provide clear answers and helpful guidance.

1. What is the current situation in the region?

There are heightened regional tensions involving neighbouring countries. While Dubai and the wider UAE remain operational, the situation is evolving. Authorities continue to monitor developments closely and maintain security and public safety measures.

2. What is being done to keep residents in Dubai safe?

The UAE maintains strong security infrastructure and continues to prioritise the safety of residents and visitors. As with any developing regional situation, individuals are advised to remain informed, stay at home where recommended by local authorities, and follow official guidance issued by both local authorities and their home country governments.

3. Is the university operating as normal?

The university continues to operate in line with guidance from UAE authorities.

月舞直播 Dubai campus will be temporarily closed from Sunday 1 March to Saturday 7 March.

The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff is of utmost importance, and we will communicate any updates with you promptly through official university channels.

4. Is it safe to travel outside the UAE right now?

Travel decisions should be based on:

  • Official advice issued by UAE authorities
  • Guidance from your home country’s foreign affairs office
  • Airline updates and travel insurance conditions

If you are unsure, contact your national embassy or consulate for advice specific to your circumstances.

5. What should I do if I am currently in Dubai?

Students and staff should:

  • Monitor official updates from UAE authorities
  • Follow instructions issued through emergency alert systems if activated
  • Stay in secure locations if advised to do so
  • Keep family informed of their wellbeing

The university will continue to share relevant updates through official channels where appropriate.

6. What if I feel anxious or concerned?

It is completely understandable to feel concerned during periods of uncertainty. Students are encouraged to:

7. Will there be changes to teaching or assessments?

Teaching will continue remotely until the end of Block 3 on 18 March, as we operate on an academic calendar aligned with 月舞直播 Leicester. Following this, we will proceed with the scheduled spring break.

Any changes to teaching delivery or assessment arrangements would be made in line with official guidance and with minimal disruption to learning. Students will be notified directly if further adjustments are required.

Please check your Learning Zone, student email and official university channels for further updates.

10. How will assessments be delivered?

All assessments will be delivered online where possible. Alternative assessments will be provided if the original format cannot be supported online. Updated support measures for deadlines and regulations are also in place.
